Texas Border Business
Winter Texan season is in full swing at the Weslaco Business Visitor & Event Center, located at 275 S. Kansas, next to City Hall. Winter Texans can stop by the Visitor Center for information on Weslaco and all the current events happening in and around the community while enjoying coffee and pastries at the Winter Texan Coffee Bar. Guests can view short films on the sugar cane and ranching industries inside the lobby, and every Friday afternoon, fresh popcorn is served in the lobby.
The Visitors Center features all types of literature including Visitor’s Guides, Mid Valley Map, Rio Grande Valley map, restaurant directory, nature attractions and many more. This year, two new publications have been added- a birding guide for nature enthusiasts and a soft adventure guide, which features things to do all around the Rio Grande Valley. State travel information is available as well, including Texas maps and visitor guides. Brochures and coupons from local member businesses are also available.
In addition, Winter Texans can enter a weekly raffle and have the chance to win a prize valued at least $25. Drawings are held on Friday afternoon and winners do not need to be present to win.
“We look forward to our Winter Texans returning every year,” commented Jason Vargas, Weslaco Visitor Center Manager. “We invite all of our Winter Texans to join us this season for all the fun happenings we have planned at the Visitor Center.”
