H-E-B TO HOST A FREE HOLIDAY DINNER CELEBRATION FOR AN ESTIMATED 5,000 WESLACO RESIDENTS DURING 14th ANNUAL H-E-B FEAST OF SHARINGÂ

The holidays are a precious time for H-E-B. It’s a time to bring family, friends, and neighbors together and give special thanks to our community. On Saturday, 5,000 Weslaco residents are expected to rejoice in the beloved annual festivities and celebrate the holiday season during the 14th Annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing Dinner.
Hundreds of H-E-B and community volunteers from the area will join together at the St. Joan of Arc Parish to serve a feast to an expected 5,000 Weslaco community members, free of charge. The menu will include glazed ham with gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. There will also be live music, entertainment and activities for the whole family throughout the day.
The H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinners were founded in 1989 and are a facet of       H-E-B’s Food Bank Assistance Program. The program works year-round to prevent hunger in Texas and Mexico. Today, 33 dinners are held across Texas and in Mexico, with more than 250,000 meals served to communities.

Santa Dash 5K Run is another great event at 5 pm:

We want to fill the Streets with Santas! The RGV Santa Dash is the valley’s newest and biggest Santa Claus themed 5K Run/Walk/family-friendly festival of the holiday season. Come enjoy hot cocoa & coffee, LIVE band, Food vendors, and Santa’s Station, where kids and adults can visit Santa! Dec. 10th, 2016 – a sight to remember.
Over 1000 Santas will take over Texas Blvd as we kick off the Christmas parade and have thousands of cheering people lining the street. Be a part of something awesome and memorable!
Weslaco celebrates Mexico at this year’s Christmas parade

The City of Weslaco, Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce and the Weslaco EDC are preparing for the 22nd Annual Mid-Valley Lighted Christmas Parade, set to be held on Saturday December 10, at 6:30 p.m. on Texas Blvd in Weslaco. This year, the parade will be held in conjunction with the RGV Santa Dash, presented by Mid Valley Events. The RGV Santa Dash will kick off the parade at 5 pm and will feature hundreds of participants in Santa suits running down Texas Blvd. With the success of the first Santa Dash held last year in Weslaco, it was a logical choice to combine the two events and give parade spectators a chance to cheer on the Santa runners and walkers.
