Popular Baton Rouge Brand Brings Its Signature Louisiana-Inspired Menu to Edinburg

EDINBURG, Texas – Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, a leading full-service family sports bar that provides gourmet takes on game day favorites, has opened its newest restaurant located at 415 Trenton Road. Edinburg residents will have a go-to community restaurant that embodies the go-getter spirit of a walk-on athlete while providing superior service and mouthwatering All-American menu items with a taste of Louisiana.
The new restaurant will be locally owned by Walid Haidar. Walid started in the restaurant industry as a busboy over 30 years ago and has worked his way up to now owning over 20 restaurants. As a dedicated member of the Edinburg community, Walid is looking forward to bringing over 200 new job opportunities, a delicious Cajun cuisine and a memorable gameday experience to the entire community. As a frequent visitor to Lafayette, Walid loved the Walk-On’s brand and after discovering that it was franchising, he jumped on board to bring the first Walk-On’s to southern Texas. The Edinburg Walk-On’s will be his third with two open in San Antonio and plans to open two more with his brother.

Walk-On’s diverse menu has offerings ranging from unique twists on game day staples – such as a Smoked Gouda Turkey Burger, Boom Boom Shrimp Poyboy, and Cajundillas, to upscale takes on Louisiana mainstays – such as Crawfish Etou-Ways, Mardi Gras Mahi, and Duck and Andouille Gumbo. Its innovative menu provides vast and flavorful dishes for every guest.
