RIO GRANDE VLLEY, Texas – Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced on Wednesday that The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) sophomore Isabelle Bahr was named the WAC Women’s Tennis Singles Player of the Week. 

Bahr picked up her third consecutive win at No. 1 singles to help UTRGV (8-4) defeat Omaha 5-2 on Sunday, beating Ines Absisan 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. 

This is the first WAC Athlete of the Week honor for the sophomore, who continues to roll at the top of the Vaqueros lineup. She won her fourth-straight No. 1 match on Monday, defeating NJIT’s Joleta Budiman 6-4, 7-5.

Bahr and the Vaqueros will be back in action Saturday when they open WAC play at 11 a.m. at Sam Houston.
