Valley Symphony Orchestra Officially Launches 2018-19 Concert Season

The Valley Symphony Orchestra and Peter Dabrowski, Music Director/Conductor officially launched their 2018-2019 “SYMPHONY…That’s Entertainment,” concert season on Tuesday, August 21 at the McAllen Performing Arts Center lobby to members of the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, invited guests, board and members of the press.  The non-profit organization will enter its sixty-seventh season performing classical symphonic concerts to audiences in the Rio Grande Valley. The first concert of the season will feature Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLC internationally acclaimed sponsored guest artist, Christopher Atzinger.  Atzinger will perform Saint-Seans’ Concerto No. 2 on September 28.  A Harry Potter Halloween – VSO Concert II is set for October 26 where families are encouraged to dress up in their spookiest or funniest costumes and enjoy great music including John Williams’ Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Audiences will revel in the glorious sounds of the chorale in the traditional holiday favorites Concert III – A Touch of Frost sponsored by Frost Bank on December 7. Guest pianist, Anastasia Dedik, sponsored by Rio Bank, will perform George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue on March 1, 2019, with Concert IV – Hooray For Hollywood.  The five-concert series finale comes to a momentous close with Concert V – The 3B’s: Beatles, Brahms And Beethoven on April 5, 2019.  All five concerts will be held at the McAllen Performing Arts Center located at 801 Convention Center Blvd on Friday evenings from 8:00 – 10:00 PM.
