RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS – FEB. 5, 2018 – Dr. Penny Simpson, director of the UTRGV Business and Tourism Research Center, is conducting the center’s annual survey into the impact Winter Texans have on the Rio Grande Valley, and is asking the public to participate in the survey online at www.UTRGV.edu/WINTERTEXAN.

“This survey gives the Winter Texans a voice to Valley tourism decision-makers, so they can make meaningful improvements that benefit Winter Texans and the Valley as a whole,” Simpson said. “Politicians, businesses and tourism officials often ask us about Winter Texans and what they’re looking for while they’re here. With this survey’s results, we can answer those questions.”

Simpson said our Winter visitors spend money, volunteer to help and spread their love of life around the community.

This year’s study looks not only at the economic impact of the Winter Texans, but also at their internet usage.

All Winter Texans are invited to participate in the study, which will be available online until Feb. 26. When you do the survey, you can be entered into a drawing to win a new Kindle Fire.
