Buerge and Bershers hit a pair of early threes as the Vaqueros jumped out to an 8-4 lead. The Vaqueros extended their lead to 12-7 on a layup by freshman Halie Jones and 19-13 on a layup by sophomore Asheli Lopez.

The Redhawks responded with a 9-0 run to take the lead. Bershers tied the game at 22 with a three and then Tyler tied the game at 25 with a three of her own.

The Vaqueros trailed by one at halftime and were within 34-33 in the opening minutes of the third thanks to a Johnson layup. The Redhawks followed with a 10-2 run to go up 44-35.
