RIO GRANE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Volleyball Head Coach Todd Lowery announced on Tuesday the addition of 6-0 freshman outside hitter Ingridy Foltran for the 2021 season.
Originally from Barueri, Brazil, Foltran most recently played for ADC Bradesco, earning team MVP honors two years in the row.
In 2019, she played for Barueri Volleyball Club, which is the youth project for the three-time gold medalist José Roberto Guimarães, the current head coach of the Brazilian women’s national team.
Foltran also represented the state of Sao Paulo in national competition, placing third in 2018 and second in 2019.
“We were attracted to her work ethic, love of the game and just overall passion for the sport,” Lowery said. “She will give us the depth on the outside that we need.”
Foltran joins 5-7 freshman libero Luanna Emiliano as part of the 2021 recruiting class.
