EDINBURG, TEXAS – OCT.18, 2016 – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s College of Engineering and Computer Science (COEC) on Friday, Oct. 21, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University in Thailand.
The event starts at 8:30 a.m. in the ITT International Room on the Edinburg Campus.
The partnership will serve as a way to develop formal links across a portfolio of areas between UTRGV and RMS University by enhancing research and educational efforts. The primary goal of the agreement is to create a means for cooperation between the UTRGV COEC and RMS University to launch an academic interchange of faculty, students, and academic and research information between the two institutions.
The agreement also includes a mutual exchange of publications, reports, academic information, collaborative professional development and other academic activities.
Members of the RMS University delegation present will be:
· Somchai Wongkasem, RMSU president and associate professor of educational administration and educational leadership.
· Sumalai Wongkasem, lecturer and associate professor of psychology.
· Dr. Somsanguan Passago, director of the Research and Development Institute and assistant professor of environmental science.
· Dr. Surawat Thongbu, dean of the Faculty of Education and assistant professor of education.
· Dr. Porntip Worakul, dean of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and assistant professor of political science.
· Dr. Siwadol Kanyakam, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and assistant professor of mechanical engineering.
