EDINBURG, Texas – The USL Championship Task Forces, in conjunction with an affirmative vote by Championship Board of Governors, have implemented Phase II training protocols, effective yesterday. While these protocols are consistent across all leagues and teams, in order to be implemented they must be in alignment with all local and state health authority guidance.
As part of the Phase II protocols, Championship is now permitted to:
- Expand non-contact training taking place on outdoor fields to include up to groups of ten
- Allow coaches to provide technical instruction
- Open weight room facilities
- Expand player treatment beyond rehabilitative purposes
The Rio Grande Valley FC – set by the USL Championship – has a provisional return to play date of July 11.
