The City of McAllen Public Works Recycling Center, located at 4101 N. Bentsen Rd., is still offering extended hours of operation due to last month’s winter storm, but will continue extended hours of operation through Monday, April 19, 2021, for McAllen residents wishing to drop off brush debris or other recycling material. For those residents who cannot drop off their brush and material, please note that Public Works crews are working as diligently as possible and ask for the community’s patience as crews work to collect all debris.

As a reminder, McAllen Public Works asks that residents place all brush and debris be placed next to where their black and blue bins are serviced. If bins are serviced in the alley, brush should be placed in the alley and the same for curbside. Residents are allowed to place brush and debris in the alley, if it is available. If brush and debris is placed curbside, it should not be placed in the street and near drainage inlets as it will impede drainage. Please refer to the McAllen Public Works website for information on which week of the month brush and debris collection is scheduled for the district: https://mcallenpublicworks.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Brush-Schedule-2021.pdf

This service is only available to McAllen residents. In order to take advantage of those services, citizens must bring a recent utility bill and an ID.
