RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s basketball team learned on Monday that junior guard Trelynn Tyler is the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Tyler recorded her first double-double of the season with 19 points and a career-high 10 rebounds against Corpus Christi last week. Tyler added five assists to go with three steals and a career-high two blocks.
Tyler is averaging 16.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game so far this season.

UTRGV will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Los Angeles, California to face USC at 9 p.m. at the Galen Center.
