
Texas Border Business
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has launched the first round of virtual public meetings as part of its update to the Texas–Mexico Border Transportation Master Plan, a binational, multimodal long‑range plan focused on improving the safe and efficient movement of people and goods across the Texas–Mexico border.
TxDOT is currently conducting stakeholder engagement across the border region—including El Paso, Laredo, and the Rio Grande Valley—as part of the comprehensive update to the Master Plan. The plan identifies current and future issues, needs, challenges, opportunities, and strategies affecting cross-border transportation.

The virtual public meeting period is now open and runs from Friday, December 19, 2025, through Friday, January 30, 2026. This first phase of public involvement offers an opportunity for residents, businesses, and stakeholders to learn about the plan’s goals and objectives and to provide initial feedback.
