BROWNSVILLE – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) invites the public to attend an upcoming virtualpublic meeting with an in-person open house option on a proposal to redesign FM 3248 (E. Alton Gloor Blvd.), between I-69E and FM 1847.
The proposal calls for widening FM 3248 (E. Alton Gloor Blvd.) from an existing five-lane roadway with a continuous left turn lane to a six-lane roadway with a raised median and a 10-foot-wide shared-use path in each direction. Theproject is approximately 2.1 miles long and the goal is to reduce congestion and improve mobility and safety.
The purpose of the public meeting is to present the preliminary transportation design and receive public comments.
The virtual public meeting will be available starting Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, by 5 p.m., at www.txdot.gov, by entering the keyword “FM 3248 (E. Alton Gloor Blvd.)”. The in-person meeting will be held on:

The in-person public meeting will be held in an open house format and representatives from TxDOT and project teammembers will be available to answer questions. Displays and exhibits will be available for viewing both in person and online along with a pre-recorded presentation in English and Spanish. The information presented in the virtual publicmeeting and in-person open house location are identical, and the opportunities to comment do not differ.
Written comments regarding the project are requested and may be submitted in person at the meeting location; by mail to the TxDOT Pharr District Office, Attn: Jorge Espinoza, 600 W.
