Pharr – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning for the future of bicycle mobility in Texas, and the public can now weigh in on a draft plan.
The bicycle plan covers the Pharr area, including Brooks, Cameron, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Kenedy, Starr, Willacy, and Zapata counties. Incorporating public and stakeholder feedback from last year, TxDOT has developed this draft plan that will help guide improvements in the future. The plan analyzes the needs for bicycle infrastructure on the state highway system, prioritizes locations for bicycling improvements, and identifies what role different routes should play in the bicycling network.
The draft plan and online interactive map will be available to the public beginning Tuesday, July 9, 2024, online. In addition, the draft plan will be available for review Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Pharr District Office, 600 W. Interstate 2, Pharr, TX 78577.
Your feedback is valuable as the agency completes the planning process for this district bicycle plan. The draft plan public comment period begins Tuesday, July 9, 2024, and ends Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. CDT. There are multiple ways to comment throughout the process, and they can be found ontxdot.gov.
