McAllen, TX – The Miss Texas World America Organization held the 2019 Miss Texas World America and Miss Texas Teen World America Double Pageant. Lucy Lopez of Brownsville was crowned as the 2019 Miss Texas World America. Miss Lopez is a 2019 graduate of Hanna High School and an incoming communication major student at the University of Texas at Austin. Genesis Garza Salazar of McAllen was crowned as Miss Texas Teen World America. Miss Garza Salazar is a senior at McAllen High School.
The pageant finale was held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the McAllen Convention Center. The Miss Texas World America and Miss Texas Teen World America Preliminary Competition, Talent Showcase and Beauty With a Purpose Presentation
Garza and Lopez will proceed to the National Pageant in Las Vegas in October 10-12, 2019. The National winner of the Miss competition will move on to Miss World in London in December 2019.
The contestants competed in a Charity Project Competition- Texas Beauty With a Purpose, Top Model Evening Gown, Influencer Social Media Race, Sports competition, Fitness Wear competition, Leader Interview competition, and an optional Talent and Entrepreneur competition. Additional awards were also given to the Most Photogenic contestant and The Yellow Rose of Texas (Miss Congeniality)
