Texas Border Business
EDINBURG, TX – Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector agents, in coordination with local partners, discover 33 migrants in two human smuggling stash houses.
Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station (RGC) agents received information of a La Grulla, Texas, residence being used to harbor illegally present migrants. RGC agents arrived at the home and discovered eight subjects inside. A female caretaker was identified among the eight subjects.
Moments later, an additional male arrived at the residence and was identified as a second caretaker. Both caretakers are United States citizens with extensive criminal history. The seven migrants are citizens of Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador. All subjects were taken into Border Patrol custody.
The Donna Police Department contacted the Weslaco Border Patrol Station for assistance for two individuals they encountered attempting to climb through a window of a Donna, Texas, residence. As agents were en route to the location, police officers discovered several more subjects inside of the residence. Border Patrol agents identified the 24 subjects inside of the home as migrants illegally present in the United States. The migrants are from Central American countries as well as Italy. No caretaker was identified.
Border Patrol processed all subjects accordingly.
