EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector (RGV) agents arrest two Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members from El Salvador attempting to enter the United States.

Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a Salvadoran national shortly after illegally entering the United States in Havana, Texas. The man was transported to a Border Patrol facility for processing. During processing, agents discovered his affiliation with the MS-13 gang.

Hours later, Brownsville Border Patrol Station agents apprehended another subject from El Salvador, later determined to be a MS-13 gang member following a criminal record check query. Record checks also listed a prior removal from the United States in 2013. The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.
