Two Large Groups of Migrants Apprehended Near Hidalgo, Texas

HIDALGO, Texas â€“ Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) Border Patrol agents encountered 264 migrants in two large groups.  

Saturday evening, Weslaco Border Patrol Station (WSL) agents encountered 125 migrants that illegally entered the United States through Hidalgo, Texas. The group consisted of 78 family members, 24 unaccompanied children, and 23 single adults. The migrants are from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. 

Yesterday evening, WSL agents witnessed a similar incident as a large group of migrants once again illegally entered the United States through Hidalgo, Texas. Agents encountered 197 migrants and identified 139 as family members, 36 as unaccompanied children, and 22 as single adults. This large group consisted of migrants from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, Colombia, and Nicaragua. This fiscal year, RGV agents have encountered large groups of over 100 migrants on more than 60 separate occasions.

Border Patrol processed the subjects accordingly.
