RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS – IDEA Public Schools is pleased to announce two of our Class of 2021 scholars were selected for full-ride scholarships through the highly selective QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship program.
The QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship program is a college and scholarship application process that helps outstanding low-income high school seniors gain admission and full four-year scholarships to the nation’s most selective colleges. QuestBridge accomplishes this by partnering with these schools to identify and support students who otherwise may not apply to leading colleges.
Applicants must submit their transcripts, test scores, and letters of recommendation while ranking the colleges of their choice to be considered for early admission and a full college scholarship.
College Match Scholarships, which are provided by participating colleges, cover the full cost of tuition, room, and board, are loan-free, and require no parental contribution.
“We are extremely proud of these scholars for earning this prestigious honor,” says JoAnn Gama, CEO of IDEA Public Schools. “I think this is a real testament of the hard work of our students and teachers.”
In 2020, out of 18,000 applications, 6,857 students were selected as National College Match Finalists. Finalists must exhibit high academic achievement and qualify financially. Of this group, 1,464 students were selected to receive scholarships including two IDEA students.
In total, IDEA Public Schools in the Rio Grande Valley had 15 finalists and twomatched students. Our early admission full-ride College Match scholarship recipients include:
Scripps College – Natalia Alameda, IDEA Weslaco Pike
Vanderbilt University – Mia Villarreal, IDEA Donna
