The Texas Southmost College Scorpions Men’s Soccer Club will participate in the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Region IV South Tournament Oct. 25-27 at the University of Texas-Dallas Soccer Complex in Richardson, Texas.
TSC is one of 12 teams from Texas and Louisiana to qualify
TSC will begin its quest for a national tournament bid on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. against SMU. The Scorpions will face tournament host UT-Dallas the following day, Oct. 26 at noon.
The first and second place teams in each pool will advance to the single-elimination second round to be played Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. The winners of the second round advance to the two national bid qualifying
TSC (7-0-0, 21 pts.) won the Texas Collegiate Soccer League (TCSL) South Conference after defeating UTSA 6-0 on Oct. 6. The Scorpions defeated UTRGV 3-2 in a non-conference match Oct. 12 to end the regular season undefeated.
The Scorpions are ranked No. 10 in the NIRSA Regional IV soccer rankings. TSC is the only community college ranked in the Top 10.
The other nine teams that will compete in the regional tournament are: University of Houston-Downtown, Lousiana State University, Rice University, Texas A&M University, Texas State University, Texas Tech, Tulane, UT-Arlington and UT-Austin.
