In a candid response to President Joe Biden’s recent address, former President Donald T. Trump did not hold back his criticism. He accused Biden of running from his record and “lying like crazy” to escape accountability for what he terms as “horrific devastation” caused by the current administration. Trump’s remarks stress a deep division in American political discourse, focusing on immigration, economic policy, and the administration’s handling of national and international issues.

According to Trump, the state of the union under Biden is burdened with failures, particularly highlighting what he sees as a mishandling of border security. “When I left office, we gave Joe Biden the most secure border in US history…We had the safest border in the history of our country,” Trump emphasized, crediting his administration with a series of stringent immigration policies that he claims were dismantled by Biden. Trump cited the remain-in-Mexico policy, third agreements, the asylum ban, Title 42, and the construction of 571 miles of border wall as central achievements that were reversed under Biden’s watch.

The former president did not soften words in describing the current border situation as a “horror show,” arguing that the Biden administration has facilitated the entry of millions of undocumented immigrants into American communities, undermining national security and public safety. “What’s happened now is a horror show the country; our country is being laughed at all over the world,” Trump stated, painting a grim picture of the country’s international standing due to these policies.

Trump also attacked Biden’s economic policies, particularly the administration’s handling of inflation and its impact on American consumers. “Shrink is just another way of saying inflation. It means that you’re losing a lot of money because these people don’t know what they’re doing,” he said, accusing Biden and his team of being “radical left Marxists and fascists and communists and socialists” who have caused significant economic damage.

In his fiery critique, Trump called for a return to his policies, emphasizing border security and economic growth as cornerstones of his proposed solutions to the country’s challenges. “My priority is securing our border and sending crooked Joe’s illegals back home,” Trump declared, making clear his stance on immigration and border control.
