Pharr, Texas – The City of Pharr and the Pharr Economic Development Corporation hosted a press conference and announced details for the upcoming Pharr International Trucking Expo — the only trucking industry expo in the region.
“The trucking industry plays a vital role in our economy through the delivery of goods and services from the distributor, through the supply chain, and on to the final destination,” stated Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. “The City of Pharr recognizes the importance that the trucking industry has, not only on a national scope, but as a direct impact on our local and regional economy,” he continued. “In Pharr, we believe that when it comes to keeping our economy functioning, transportation is key, and we welcome all trucking industry leaders and representatives to attend this event,” Hernandez added.
Attendees at the official announcement included Pharr City Commissioner and Pharr EDC Board Member Ramiro Caballero, M.D., Pharr EDC Director Victor Perez, Pharr Bridge Director Luis Bazan, Consul of Mexico en McAllen Socorro Jorge Cholula, CANACAR Delgate from Reynosa,Tam. Leopoldo Jose Chow, CANACAR Delegate from Nuevo Laredo, Tam. Eduardo Javier Lozano, and Ing. Leonel Cantu Robles, Economic Development office from Reynosa.
The event took place at the Pharr Economic Development Corporation headquarters.
