City’s sewer system now more efficient
McALLEN – McAllen city crews have now finished repairs on the sewer system along Bicentennial Blvd. and the roadway has reopened to traffic.
Crews reduced Bicentennial to one lane in each direction from La Vista to Harvey Ave. for a week to replace an existing line that runs under the roadway in an effort to make the sewer system more efficient.
“We would like to thank the citizens of McAllen for their patience and cooperation with the construction along Bicentennial,” said Public Utility General Manager Mark Vega. “We understand that it was a bit of an inconvenience, but it was necessary for us to keep providing the highest standard of water and wastewater services to our community.”
