PHARR, Texas – For the tenth consecutive year, the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD Transportation Department has been ranked among the Top 100 Fleets in the Nation as per Government Fleet, a leading transportation industry magazine and it’s ranking of The 100 Best Fleets in North America. PSJA ISD was the only school district in the Rio Grande Valley Recognized.
The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas program recognizes peak-preforming fleet operations aimed at identifying and encouraging the ever-increasing levels of performance improvement and innovation within the public fleet industry.
With 162 buses utilized throughout the school year, PSJA’s Transportation Department is one of the largest in the Rio Grande Valley. For several years now, the goal of the department has been to increase the efficiency of routes by implementing new devices and software that helps cut overall travel cost.
For the last 10 years, the PSJA Transportation Department has either been ranked among the Top 100 fleets in the Nation or received Honorable Mention honors. The support, training, and high expectations for the PSJA Transportation Department team is reflected in these achievements.
“We don’t do it for the awards, but they are a measuring marker for how well we do our job,” said PSJA Transportation Manager Jose Rivera. “Thank you to all our wonderful, hardworking employees that make it possible and to our students and staff that provide us with the opportunity to serve.”
