BROWNSVILLE — The Texas Department of Transportation will begin shifting traffic as part of the raised median project on SH 48 (Boca Chica Blvd) between Interstate 69E and SH 4 in Brownsville, TX.
Traffic will shift to the two outer lanes in each direction. There will be no access across Boca Chica Boulevard at various intersections. Vehicles entering Boca Chica Blvd from the north or south will only make a right turn except at signalized intersections (Paredes Line Road, Old Port Isabel Road, Strawberry Square, Kings Street, and Security Drive).
Texas CORDIA Construction, a TxDOT contractor, will begin work on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at 7:00 AM. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2021.
