PHARR, Texas – Paving operations on the frontage roads along northbound I-69C, and in both directions of I-2, will requires daytime and overnight lane and ramp closures, Thursday, January 16, through Saturday, January 18. Details on scheduled work is included below.

Locations 1 & 2
Daytime Closures, Pharr
Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
1.) Northbound I-69C Frontage Road – Two-lane closure between SH495 and Eldora Road
2.) Eastbound I-2 – Full closure of the on ramp located just east of Cage Boulevard
The ‘Edinburg to Harlingen’ direct connector will be reduced to one lane at the departure point during this time.
Locations 3 & 4
Evening into Morning Closures, San Juan & Pharr
Friday, January 17 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 am on Saturday, January 18
3.) Westbound I-2 Frontage Road – Two-lane closure between Cesar Chavez Road and Raul Longoria Road, in San Juan. The on ramp located west of Cesar Chavez Road will be intermittently closed during this time.
4.) Eastbound I-2 Frontage Road – Single-lane closure between Sugar Road and Cage Boulevard, in Pharr. The eastbound on-and-off ramps within these limits will be intermittently closed during this time.

All work is weather permitting.

Drivers are reminded to stay alert and slowdown in roadwork zones, to be aware of lane closures and alternate routes, and to follow all traffic control updates.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:

Daytime closures are necessary to meet temperature requirements for paving operations. 

The drop in temperatures in the overnight hours have also dropped the roadway surface temperature below the requirement for paving.View safe driving practices at https://www.txdot.gov/
