BROWNSVILLE – A traffic switch is planned for a segment of State Highway 4 (SH 4), or International Blvd in Brownsville, this week.
Currently, SH 4 has one lane of traffic in each direction from the I-69E frontage road to Magnetek Drive and then it opens to two lanes of traffic in each direction from Magnetek Drive to State Highway 48 (SH 48).
Starting on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., weather permitting, road crews will start placing a concrete barrier and begin working on the next phase of the project. SH 4 will have traffic down to one lane in each direction from the I-69E frontage road to SH 48. Traffic will be in this type of configuration until the contractor completes the project in late 2025 or early 2026.
Motorists should expect delays and are advised to observe and follow all posted warning signs, traffic control devices, and speed limit signs.
