MISSION, Texas – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) plans to increase lane capacity on a segment of State Highway 107 (Conway Avenue) in Mission, beginning this month.

The improvements, between FM 1924 (Buddy Owens Boulevard) and State Highway 495 (Griffin Parkway), will widen the existing roadway to include six 12-foot travel lanes with a raised center median, and designated right turn lanes. The $32 million project also includes the addition of a sidewalk and a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians.

TxDOT will also coordinate with Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 for drainage improvements in the area, some of which will impact the Wagon City South community.Residents there may experience temporary disruptions, including construction activity and limited access in certain locations.
