W.C. McIntosh, P.E., Commissioner of the United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission, announced that Tony Frye has been appointed Deputy Commissioner for Public and Congressional Affairs.
Frye joins the agency from the Federal Highway Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he served as Associate Administrator for Highway Policy and External Affairs. McIntosh stated that Frye will assume responsibilities for public communication and congressional engagement for the commission.
According to the announcement, Frye has held several previous roles in government and policy organizations. These include serving as the State Transportation Resilience Officer at the Florida Department of Transportation, as Director of Legislative Affairs for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, and as Assistant Deputy Associate Administrator for Senate Affairs at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Frye earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Northern Iowa. He resides in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife and two children.
In the announcement, McIntosh said, “Please join me in welcoming Deputy Commissioner Frye to the USIBWC family.”
