PHARR – Three Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) Mariachi groups earned 1st Division Superior ratings at the UIL Region Mariachi Contest held Jan. 25 and advanced to the State competition.
Congratulations to PSJA Early College High School, PSJA North Early College High School, and PSJA Southwest Early College High School Mariachis for this accomplishment.
The groups will compete at the 4th Annual UIL State Mariachi Contest to be held at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on Saturday, Feb. 22.
“We take pride in providing quality fine arts opportunities at PSJA ISD, and are so proud of our students for this tremendous accomplishment,” said PSJA Superintendent Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo. “Thank you to our parents, teachers, and administrators for their hard work and dedication.”
At PSJA ISD, all students can participate in the following superior music programs: Band, Orchestra, Choir, Jazz Band and Mariachi.
