RIO GRANDE VALLEY(April 22, 2014)- U.S. News & World Reportannounced today that IDEA College Prep Donna, IDEA Frontier College Prep, and IDEA
Quest College Prep, part of the IDEA Public Schools’growing network of tuition-free K-12 public charter schools, ranked in the top 1% of all public
high schools in the nation. All three schools were also ranked in the top 10 best charter high schools in Texas. They all received gold medals, the highest
medal awarded, from U.S. News & World Report for their score on the college readiness index.
“We are thrilled to see IDEA high schools ranked by U.S. News & World Report once again,” said JoAnn Gama, IDEA Public Schools Co-Founder and Chief
of Schools. “This national recognition is a testament to the hard work our teachers, staff, students, and parents do on a daily basis to prepare IDEA’s
15,000 students for success in and after college.”
U.S. News & World Reportanalyzed more than 19,400 public high schools across the country in order to determine their Best High Schools list.
Specifically, their analysis evaluated how well the schools serve their students and prepare them for college-level work. The data they reviewed included
reading and math proficiency, academic achievement of minority and low-income students, and Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate
testing.
IDEA Donna has consistently been recognized as a gold medal school since the release of the 2009 U.S. News & World Report’sBest High Schools
rankings. This is the second year IDEA Frontier and IDEA Quest join the rankings.
