PHARR, Texas – Thousands of students and their families participated in the 14th Annual PSJA Back-to-School Expo, held on August 7, 2025, at all PSJA ISD high school campuses. Designed as a one-stop hub for back-to-school needs, the event provided families with the tools, resources, and information necessary for a successful start to the academic year.
Families had the opportunity to meet campus administrators and purchase uniforms. For Miriam Alvarado, it was the perfect opportunity to prepare for the upcoming school year for her child, who will be attending Longoria Elementary in San Juan.
“It is very convenient because we get everything ahead of time,” said Alvarado. “My son will be ready to start the school year.”
The expo, held simultaneously at all PSJA ISD high schools and their feeder elementary and middle schools, offered families access to essential back-to-school services. Participants learned about district programs and initiatives, completed student registration, and received immunizations.
“We want the first day of school to be a moment of excitement, not stress,” said Dr. Alejandro Elias, PSJA ISD Superintendent. “By bringing together uniforms, enrollment, resources, and face-to-face connections with school leaders, the Expo sets our students up for success from day one.”
