McAllen, Texas – The Advocacy Alliance Center of Texas (AACT) is proud to announce the approval from the Texas Bar Foundation of a grant requested in the amount of $6,930.00 for a Youth Voter Engagement Summit in 2020.
Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $20 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably-funded bar foundation.
For over 8 years, AACT has been dedicated to empowering voters, cultivating a culture of civic participation, and increasing voter turnout in the Rio Grande Valley through community partnerships, voter outreach, education, and get out the vote efforts.
On behalf of the AACT Board of Directors and Staff, we thank the Texas Bar Foundation for supporting our Youth Voter Education Program in 2020. With their generous giving, AACT will invest in providing high school seniors more opportunities to learn about the voting process and increase voter registration efforts through a region-wide Youth Voter Engagement Summit. The summit will help our youth bridge the gap between voter registration and voting by showing them the impact voting has in shaping many decisions in our communities.
If you would like to donate or participate in our 2020 Youth Voter Education Program, please call AACT at (956) 664-2228 or visit our website www.aactnow.org.
AACT is a non-profit, non-partisan organization established to increase voter turnout in the Rio Grande Valley.
