Dr. Bell serves as the Kansas state coordinator of the Votes for Women Trail. She is an accomplished speaker and has consulted on the production of a women’s suffrage exhibit at the Kansas Historical Museum. She was honored with a spot walking behind the Centennial of Suffrage float at the 2020 Rose Parade.

“We should all remember how much of a struggle it was to gain the vote for women, and to secure the vote of other disenfranchised groups over the course of our nation’s history,” said event coordinator Dr. Jaclyn J.S. Miller, assistant professor of history at South Texas College. “Honor that struggle by researching the issues and voting in every election to support the best interests of your communities at the local, state, and national levels.”

A voters’ rights representative will be available at the Pecan location to help students register for the election coming this fall. Refreshments will also be provided by the South Texas Faculty Association to guests at both locations.
