The McAllen Heritage Center – museum of history and culture is pleased to kick off the 2026 annual “Chuckwagon Dinner” in partnership with Macaroni Grill of McAllen.  Once again, the ticket includes a great meal that can be enjoyed from June 1 through September 30, 2026 (Excluding Father’s Day).  This year, a single steak dinner ticket will be introduced on a limited basis for $50.00 along with the popular steak dinner for two with a bottle of house wine for only $80.00 per ticket. All funds raised will benefit the McAllen Heritage Center whose mission is to preserve and educate about McAllen’s history and culture.

The Chuckwagon Dinner fundraiser originated in 2006 in conjunction with PalmFest Folklife Celebration (now known as Fiesta de Palmas) at the McAllen Civic Center located at 10th Street and Expressway 83. The event then moved to the museum located in downtown McAllen until 2014 when the event first partnered with Tony Roma’s, now Romano’s Macaroni Grill of McAllen.

MHC is grateful to the many friends and supporters of the Chuckwagon Dinner and other museum fundraisers throughout the years. It is through this ongoing support from the community that the museums mission has been successful for the past 20 years during which MHC has been in service to the community and Region.  Exhibits continue to expand and the museum also offers art exhibits by local artists at the “Artist’s Corner”, book reading events along with rotating exhibits with our partners UTRGV Chaps Program, Bob Bullock museum, the Valley Land Fund and Humanities Texas, among others.
