McAllen, Texas – Amazing pitches were heard on November 17, 2021 at The Good Pitch Competition. This event is an initiative sponsored by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce to nurture good public speaking skills in the entrepreneurial and business community in McAllen. The competition is intended to simulate the real-world process of promoting, selling or soliciting buy-into an idea, product, service or request. This year, 18 participants were competing for two $200 prizes. One being selected by the panel of judges and one selected by the more than 50 attendees.
The quality of the pitches grows and grows every year. Three judges who evaluated the quality of the idea, the time and the flow of the presentation selected their favorite pitch. The selected winner of the 2021 Good Pitch Competition panel of judges was Vivian Villarreal who performed a pitch on the Trusty, a better alternative to contain micturate of men through a patented diaper. Vivian was the selected winner of the judges and won $200. The other winner was selected by the public, and with 43 votes, the selected winner was Ximena Martinez, co-owner of La Casa De Mi Abuela. A 16-year-old finalist at the 8th annual “Quest for Texas Best” who makes full meals of traditional Mexican cuisine more ready-available through a grab-and-go concept.
