EDINBURG, TX– The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library is now offering virtual library cards, eBooks and eAudiobooks to all Hidalgo County Library System users through the cloudLibrary app. This new app has replaced RBDigital – HCLS’ former eLibrary service.
With cloudLibrary, a patron’s library card is just a touch away, eliminating the frustration of a forgotten or misplaced card. The virtual card can be used for any library transaction that traditionally required a physical card.
With this new format, cloudLibrary users can favorite, mark as read, and sort and filter a digital record of their cloudLibrary borrowing history. This helps users manage the items they have borrowed and remember which books they have already enjoyed.
Additionally, with cloudLibrary, patrons will have access to over 150,000 items which includes both eBooks and eAudiobooks. Books can be read or listened to on personal devices such as iPad, iPhones, laptops, and any other gadget.
“We’re excited about this service and the increased convenience it provides for our patrons” says Letty Leija, Library and Cultural Arts Director.
The new service is offered at no cost to all patrons, requiring only a valid library card. Bibliotheca’s cloudLibrary app is available for free through the Apple Store or Google Play Store or by visiting www.yourcloudlibrary.com. Users will then need to follow the prompts and simply login using their library card number and PIN.
If you do not have a Library card, feel free to drop by the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library located at 1906 S. Closner Blvd in Edinburg, the library is located right across the historic Echo Hotel. All first-time applicants can get a Library card for free!
