AUSTIN, Texas – Laura Hinojosa, Hidalgo County District Clerk, was reappointed as a voting member to the State’s Judicial Committee on Information Technology (JCIT).  This marks the 12th year Hinojosa has served on the committee. The mission of the JCIT is to establish standards and guidelines for the systematic implementation and integration of technology in Texas’ trial and appellate courts.

“It has been an honor to serve on the JCIT since 2013 and to see all of the progress that we’ve made over the years,” said Hinojosa. “I look forward to continuing to serve in this capacity alongside my honorable colleagues to continue improving the use of technology in our courts.”

The JCIT provides an open forum for collaboration with all partners in the judicial system including attorneys, judges, clerks and local county governments. They collectively work to review, propose and implement standards for technology in the judicial system and develop statewide rules for the use of technology like e-filing.
