EDINBURG, Texas – The Rio Grande Valley chapter of the Tx Society of CPAs will be visiting Palm Valley Animal Society on Saturday, November 6th, where 40-50 students from UTRGV and their CPA mentors will spend the afternoon interacting and walking the dogs of PVAS.
TXCPA Vice-President Mike Overly proposed this volunteer opportunity, and PVAS is excited to partner up for this one-day event. The event will be held at the PVAS Andrew Center (2451 N Expressway 281, Edinburg, TX 78541) from 10 am – 12 pm. The volunteers will use the PVAS walking park and the EEDC NORTH PARK located across from the shelter to accommodate the many volunteers expected to attend.
“We at PVAS are grateful for TXCPA for reaching out and giving back to the community. I know the dogs appreciate the time out of the kennels,” says PVAS Executive Director Donna Casamento. “We encourage any other groups or organizations in the Valley to reach out for other volunteer opportunities.”
Having your group or organization volunteer is not limited to walking the dogs. We have a strong team of essential volunteers that help by socializing with the animals, providing care by bottle-feeding orphaned puppies and kittens, even transporting animals to rescues, and so much more. If you want to register your group or even sign up as an individual, contact our volunteer department at volunteer@pvastx.org and get started today.
