Texas Regional Bank (TRB) announces four strategic hires to strengthen its Trust and Wealth Management Division. Houston, Texas – Texas Regional Bank (TRB) announces four strategic hires to strengthen its Trust and Wealth Management Division. Joshua Flores joins TRB as Chief Fiduciary Officer, Trey Willerson assumes the role of Chief Investment Officer, Brian Cafferky steps into the position of Chief Operating Officer and Peyton Stamper joins as Client Advisor. Their hiring further solidifies TRB’s commitment to providing comprehensive financial solutions to clients across Texas.

Joshua Flores

Joshua Flores will oversee all trust and estate accounts where TRB serves as a fiduciary. With a decade of experience in trust and estate litigation, Flores brings a wealth of expertise in fiduciary matters, including will contests, trust administration, and guardianship proceedings. His leadership will be instrumental in guiding a statewide team of trust officers and professionals to fulfill fiduciary duties effectively.

Prior to joining TRB, Flores was a Partner at Jackson Walker, LLP, where he focused on Fiduciary Litigation. This included matters involving trustees and executors and the prosecution and defense of fiduciary claims. Josh obtained his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston.

Trey Willerson

Trey Willerson is tasked with leading the investment functions of TRB’s Trust and Wealth Management division. With over twenty-five years of experience managing portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and family offices, Willerson will drive optimal investment decisions across TRB’s client base.

Before joining TRB, Willerson served as Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Northern Trust. His career journey also includes experience at top investment firms across Houston, focusing on fundamental research analysis within multiple sectors. Trey obtained his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and his master’s in business administration from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Brian Cafferky

Brian Cafferky brings over two decades of leadership experience in financial services operations. Cafferky will play a pivotal role in accelerating growth and executing strategic plans for TRB’s Trust and Wealth Management division, leveraging his expertise in digital solutions and team leadership.

In his recent role at Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland, Cafferky oversaw critical operational functions, including securities, fixed income, and asset management, reporting to the CEO and Global COO in New York.  Before his time at Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland, Cafferky served as the COO for the North America Business of Lloyds Banking Group. He attended the Letterkenny Institute of Technology in Ireland.

Peyton Stamper

Peyton Stamper joins as a Client Advisor for the Trust and Wealth Management Division. He will work as a key member of a comprehensive wealth management team with a specific focus on customized financial analysis and advice for institutions, individuals, and families. 

Before joining TRB, Stamper was a Tax Manager with Crowe in Houston. He is a licensed CPA and brings eight years of public accounting experience to his new role. Stamper received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Ben Fedorko, President of TRB’s Trust Division, emphasized the significance of these appointments in the bank’s expansion strategy, stating, “We are strategically positioned to enhance our capabilities and client offerings in Trust and Wealth Management. These appointments reflect our commitment to assembling a top-tier team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and tailored financial solutions.”

TRB is headquartered in Harlingen, but the Trust and Wealth Management executive team will operate from the Houston Region. Houston is a strategic location that allows the team to serve clients throughout the state efficiently. TRB expanded its presence in the Houston market with the opening of its first branch in the Memorial City area in September 2021. The branch is located at 9821 Katy Fwy, Suite 100, Houston, Texas 77024. The Trust and Wealth Management team in Houston has acquired and remodeled adjacent space in Suite 110 at the same address. Going forward, the Houston Trust and Wealth Management team will be focused on growth everywhere that the bank operates through the acquisition of top-tier talent across Texas and other strategic partnerships.
