AUSTIN, Texas—Texas Mutual Insurance Company, the state’s leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance, today announced the launch of “Be Ready Texas,” a disaster preparedness podcast series for businesses. Texas Mutual has joined with Texas State Network and Radio.com—one of the leading podcast providers in the U.S.—to bring the podcast to millions of Texans each week. The podcast will cover a range of disaster preparedness topics and will highlight the importance of having proper plans in place before a disaster occurs.

“During this global pandemic, we see now more than ever the importance of business owners having disaster plans ready to protect their operations and employees,” said Jackie Sekiguchi, community affairs manager for Texas Mutual. “Studies have shown that a majority of businesses will not survive if they are non-operational after disaster strikes. Our goal through this podcast is to provide a resource that ensures business owners have the proper knowledge and tools to prepare for any disaster situation they may face.”

“Be Ready Texas” will cover a range of disaster topics including health care, security risks and severe weather threats, among others. Each week, host Pete Thomson, of Texas State Network, and a guest expert will discuss tips and proactive steps businesses can take before disaster strikes. The podcast will give insight on getting employees on board with disaster plans, as well as best practices for shielding assets to ensure business continuity and avoiding potential devastation.
