SAN JUAN, Texas – Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) Librarian Amy Marquez was named the 2022 Librarian/Media Specialist of Year by the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) on March 1.
TCEA is a global, nonprofit, member-based organization that supports the use of technology in education. Each year, TCEA’s Annual Educator Awards recognize excellence in the integration of technology in schools awarding the most innovative and engaging educators. In addition to the award, recipients receive a $1,000 prize.
Marquez has over 20 years in education. She currently serves as the Librarian at PSJA Collegiate High School Program in San Juan and was also the first educator in the Rio Grande Valley to become a Google for Education Google Certified Coach.
“I’m so honored to be the award recipient of the 2022 TCEA Librarian of the Year! Each day I have the privilege to work with our staff and students to inspire a love of literacy, learning and technology at my campus. I am grateful for each person I get to work with and for supportive administrators,” said Marquez. “The greatest joy of being an educator is having the opportunity to serve and touch the lives of others.”
