The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and the City of Edinburg are excited to announce Aaron Watson as the 16th Annual Texas Cook’Em: High Steaks in Edinburg headliner. The celebration will be held at the Ebony Hills Golf Course, 300 W. Mark S. Pena Drive on Saturday, July 2, 2022.

Texas Cook’Em is one of the state’s biggest BBQ purse, awarding $25,000 to winners. Competitors will battle it out on the grill to cook the best chicken, ribs, pork, brisket, and rib-eye steak. Winners will take home money and a year’s work of bragging rights.

A portion of the event proceeds will benefit local Veterans attending the University of Texas- Rio Grande Valley with scholarships. Texas Cook’Em has distributed over $20,000 in scholarships locally.

Attendees can now contribute to the Veterans scholarship program by purchasing a Steak Society membership. By participating in the new Steak Society membership attendees will receive an exclusive Steak Society cap, have access to the Steak Society Lounge throughout the event. The lounge will provide an excellent atmosphere where veteran supporters can relax, cool down, and have a great view of the concert. In 2021, Texas Cook’Em drew over 80 cooking teams from across the state. As well as 10,000 festival attendees. Organizers hope to draw a bigger audience this year. 

This year’s festivities will begin at 10 A.M., attendees can enjoy a variety of activities such as live music, vendors, car show, a children’s fun zone, and of course delicious food.

Opening for country star Aaron Watson is the Red Not Chili Peppers, Draft, Explosion Tejana, and more. Admission to the concert is free. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Limited VIP tables are available for purchase at the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce by calling (956) 383-4974.
