AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Association of Business (TAB) CEO and President, Glenn Hamer, released the following statement after Site Selection Magazine ranked Texas the No. 1 state for business.

This ranking further solidifies Texas’ position as America’s premier economic powerhouse.

Our business-friendly economic climate is prime for entrepreneurship and economic growth – and has been thoughtfully cultivated by state leaders, including Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Speaker Dade Phelan and the entire Texas Legislature.

During the most recent legislative session, the Legislature passed HB 5 to attract capital-intensive investments that create high-paying jobs and tax revenue for Texas communities; HB 8 to enhance funding for community colleges; The Texas Regulatory Consistency Act to ensure a more predictable regulatory climate; and the Texas CHIPS Act, which incentivizes semiconductor manufacturing in the state.

We thank our state leaders for their commitment to best-in-class regulatory reforms.

TAB continues to work alongside our state leaders and legislators to keep Texas the best place to live, work and raise a family.

TAB is the Texas State Chamber, representing companies of every size and industry. The Association’s purpose is to champion the best business climate in the world, unleashing the power of free enterprise to enhance lives for generations. Follow TAB on FacebookTwitter, and LinkedIn.
