Texas Border Coalition Marks 1st Anniversary of Mass Shooting in El Paso

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr., chairman of the Texas Border Coalition (TBC), today issued the following statement to mark the first anniversary of the mass shooting at Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso that left 23 people dead and 23 wounded:

“One year ago today, El Paso suffered a horrific loss. The Texas Border Coalition joins the state of Texas in remembering 23 precious souls who tragically lost their lives during the heinous attack at Cielo Vista Mall. We stand with the El Paso community not only in remembering the victims and their families but with those survivors who are suffering from physical and emotional wounds they will carry for the rest of their lives.

“As we mark this somber anniversary, we also honor the first responders who raced to the scene and saved countless lives that day, as well as the citizens of El Paso who displayed remarkable strength and resilience in the midst of indescribable turmoil and grief.”
