McALLEN, Texas – The Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen (HECM) invites the community, including high school and transfer students, to attend its spring Open House event on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon. 

The event will provide attendees the opportunity to:
Explore undergraduate degree programs
Tour the state-of-the-art facility
Meet world-class faculty members
Network with academic advisers from the Rio Grande Valley Prospective Student Center

In addition, attendees will be able to learn more about the College of Nursing’s Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences’ One Health program that will become available when the Texas A&M Health Nursing Education and Research Building opens in Spring 2026. 

“Our open house event gives prospective students and families a chance to gain first-hand knowledge about the unique Aggie experience we offer right here in the Rio Grande Valley,” said Manny Vela, associate vice president and chief operating officer of Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen. “Attendees will be able to meet current students, faculty and staff, learn more about our academic programs, explore campus resources and immerse themselves in our one-of-a-kind Aggie community.”
