PHARR, Texas — Terracon, a leading provider of environmental, facilities, geotechnical, and materials services, has named Jorge A. Flores, P.G. and Alfonso A. Soto, P. E., D. GE, F. ASCE as Senior Principals. Flores, a Rio Grande Valley native, earned a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Texas at Austin and has 25 years of experience in environmental consulting. He joined Terracon in 2004, serving as a senior project geologist before being appointed office manager in 2005. He is based in Pharr and is a licensed professional geologist in Texas. Flores is an active Rotarian and has served as Assistant District Governor and twice as president of the local club.
A native of Venezuela, Soto earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Universidad Rafael Urdaneta and a Master of Engineering degree from Texas A&M University. With over 30 years of international experience in geotechnical engineering, he has proven himself to be an expert in the industry. He earned a Diplomate, Geotechnical Engineering (D.GE) certification and is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Soto joined Terracon in 2001, serving as a senior project manager for geotechnical services in the San Antonio office before being promoted to department manager in 2006. He is based in Pharr and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
