EDINBURG – Hidalgo County is advising the public of a temporary closure affecting access to the New Courthouse circular service drive due to scheduled utility work. The work being done is in connection to the construction of the meander walkway located in the northeast corner of the Courthouse square.
The closure will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, and will remain in effect through Sunday, December 21. During this time, vehicle access to the service drive will be restricted and the roadway will be closed to ensure public safety while work is underway. Along with the closure, access to the accessible parking spots at the entrance of the circular drive will also be closed.
The service drive is scheduled to re-open at 6 a.m. on Monday, December 22.
Members of the public visiting the courthouse during this period are encouraged to use the new TI parking lot located at 207 E. Loeb St., as well as other designated parking areas around the Courthouse Square. Shuttle service will be available from all designated parking locations to provide convenient access to the courthouse.
