McAllen, TX – Telemundo 40 Río Grande Valley / KTLM announced that Jorge Almaraz has been named News Anchor for Noticias Telemundo 40, KTLM’s local newscast that airs weekdays at 11:00 AM, 4:00 PM, 4:30 PM, 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM and weekends at 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. He will take the anchor desk in late March 2020.

Almaraz has more than 25 years of experience in communications and production of informative content for television and radio in Mexico. He developed his career at Televisa Corporation SA, Grupo ACIR SAR, Grupo Radio Formula, among others. Almaraz presented “Las Noticias” morning edition in Televisa Monterrey and Ciudad Juarez. In Addition, he worked as news Director at Televisa Bajio as well as a host of the morning news “Buenos Dias Bajio”. Almaraz holds a bachelor’s degree of science in Communication from Universidad De La Salle Bajío in Leon, Guanajuato, in Mexico.
